Baroque pearls, a mineral of natural origin, are thought to derive from the Portuguese word "barroco". In Portuguese, this term was used to mean "irregular in form". The same word took the form of "barocco" in Italian and began to be used for "pearl ornaments".
Baroque pearls, which have been popular and always used as valuable in many periods of history, are usually produced by oysters called pearl mussels, which have many species. The shells of these oysters have a very high resistance. It is also known that calcium carbonate plays an important role in the formation of the pearl by the oyster. The most common baroque pearl shapes can be oval, pear, teardrop, and even completely shapeless with no symmetry.
The Story of Baroque Pearls:
Precious stones and historical figures are inextricably linked with each other. Among the powerful jewelry of historical figures, several jewelry made of baroque pearls are known. They are given their own names, and eventually stones and pearls become more famous than their owners. So, the legend of the love of the Roman politician Mark Antony and the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra says that as proof of their feelings, she made her precious earrings in the form of pears from baroque pearls and dissolved them in the wine that the Roman drank. Then, according to legend, these pearls shone on the statue of Venus and adorned the goddess of love.
Opened in the middle of the 16th century on the coast of Panama, a large drop of pearls of the baroque "Peregrina" first gave freedom to the slave who found it. Then, in the most august English English, it was presented to the autocrat of Spain, Philip the Second, who presented the "Peregrine" as a wedding gift to Maria Tudor. It is not surprising that in translation "Peregrina" means "pilgrim", because the pearl caught the portrait of the Spanish queen after visiting Bonaparte, and the French marquis also had it and bought it from Napoleon III, who needed money. The marquis's wife was distracted by the creation of a necklace of pearls.
Known as the queen of stones, pearls have been the symbol of purity and innocence throughout the ages.
